Carbolytic Materials Company Brings New Investment to Maryville, Missouri
New Plant to Employ 20-30 to Produce Carbon Black Alternative for Manufacturing Applications

Maryville, MO (May 28, 2008) – Carbolytic Materials Company (CMC), a carbon black alternative manufacturer located in St. Louis, recently announced that they will build a new factory in Maryville that will employ 20-30 people in the manufacture of the company’s proprietary ApexCM™ carbon black replacement material.

“We’re very excited to begin production of ApexCM here in Maryville,” said Ray Riek, President of CMC. “With our new manufacturing process, the operations team we’ve built, and the new facility, we will be able to produce ApexCM for use in a variety of automotive, construction, and industrial applications.”

The new factory will include 20,000 square feet of production space and will house a product testing lab and office space. CMC will also lease space for a research and development lab in the Northwest Missouri State University Innovation Center.

The new facility will allow CMC to process more than 15,000 tons of tires yearly to produce 5000 tons of their proprietary ApexCM carbon black replacement material. Each ton of ApexCM represents 380 tires recycled and 760 gallons of oil saved. It also represents more than 3800 pounds of carbon dioxide kept out of the atmosphere. The reclaimed carbon black can be used in automotive, agricultural, construction, and industrial-equipment applications. It is a low-cost alternative to traditional carbon black and can be used to reinforce or tint rubber and plastics. About Carbolytic Materials Company
